At the Table with Presley and Karson

Content warning: The following content addresses eating disorders, dieting, body image, and compulsive exercise, which some individuals may find distressing. Though this post intends to advocate for recovery without glamorizing disordered behaviors, viewer discretion is advised.

In light of Eating Disorders Awareness Week, two FRC team members, Presley and Karson, stepped out from behind the front desk and sat down at a table to discuss their experiences with eating disorders, compulsive exercise, body image, and identity. We’re inviting our community to join their conversation in hopes it will continue at whatever table you find yourself seated at.

Is there anything you can share with someone who wants to recover or is recovering that might give them hope?
Karson Speth

What do you wish you had done sooner?

I want you to envision your past self at the most bleak moment in your recovery process. If you were sitting across from her at this table, what would you say to her?
Presley Townsend

Something we’re taking away from Presley and Karson’s conversation is the importance of community for a life well lived. Full Ride fam, please know there is a team of people ready, willing, and eager to support you in any way we can. We are not professionals when it comes to eating disorders and their effects, but we can connect you with proper resources. At FRC, there is an entire community who wants to see you live instead of merely surviving. We love you and we are here for you – always.

Love,

Your FRC Fam
