Our Story

FRC was established in September 2018 by a young female entrepreneur on a quest to impact the city of Nashville by way of the heart. She believed that through connection and community, anything was truly possible.

What began as merely a dream, moved quickly to a proof of concept in the form of a 989 square foot shipping container. Yes, you read that right. A large storage unit is how it all started. If you’ve been to Full Ride, you’ve felt the magic. And pretty quickly after launch, word spread fast not just through the city of Nashville, but through the entire United States and soon instructors and riders from all over were making their way to Nashville just to experience what everyone has been talking about.

What makes FRC unlike any other? The instructors. The core values the team is founded on. The integrity and determination of the leadership team that holds everyone, including themselves, to a higher standard. FRC doesn’t just have an array of awards (such as Best Cycle Studio, Best Instructors, Best ClassPass Instructor, etc.) but it has a heartbeat you feel from the moment you walk through the front doors.

And after two years in the beloved “Pop-Up” Full Ride has officially found its home in the heart of 12S, one of Nashville's most coveted neighborhoods. This new studio has a state-of-the-art bike room, showers complete with all the amenities you will need post-sweat, as well as a plethora of parking to facilitate your busy go, go, go lifestyle.

You see, FRC isn’t just another cycle studio. It is a community on a crusade in search of a higher purpose. We just happen to be dancing on a bike along the way. After all, hearts beat better, together.

“Our hearts beat better together.”

A sit down with the founder, Kenzie Todd

  • I’d say so, I’ve always had it in my blood. I come from a very entrepreneurial household (both my dad and brother are entrepreneurs) and I have always dreamt of being the leader I never had and creating jobs where people love what they do.

  • I knew I wouldn’t end up in my hometown. I love to travel and I actually enjoyed moving around in my twenties, but by my 25th birthday, I just knew Nashville was it so I packed up my things and moved and never looked back. Nashville is home.

  • Oh man… the early days are so bittersweet for me. We were a small but mighty team being jacks of all trades. As for me, I would work the front desk, teach the class, clean the bikes, then change in the backroom (no showers) and head to my corporate job, work 8 hours then go back to the studio and do it all again. Very little sleep, lots of tears, big hopes. Within just a few months I was able to quit my corporate job and work full-time at FRC and that is truly when everything changed.

  • Starting in a shipping container to now a gorgeous studio in the heart of one of the best communities in Nashville is surreal. We started off with a simple logo and a 969 sqft space with a portable AC unit. We worked tirelessly and tenaciously to continue to build a brand that was for the people; a place free of judgment and expectation. Truly by the grace of God and the right people in my corner, we’ve been able to evolve into the studio of my dreams, but it took time. Good things don’t happen overnight and the progression has been such an amazing experience. The evolution has been a lot of learning what I like and what I don’t like and being able to own my voice as a business owner. Looking back, it didn’t feel like much was changing, but as we approach our 3 year anniversary, it’s humbling to see how FRC has evolved to become the brand I’m proud to represent.

  • I could truly write a book on the things I've learned since starting Full Ride, but I would say the biggest lesson I’ve learned is to do it scared. I believe that if you put the focus on the value you can provide others, you will never fail. Your life will never lack meaning. I started Full Ride when I was 27 years old and not a clue what I was doing. It's been the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it's also my favorite part of every day.

  • My biggest achievement is in the smallest of things. The DM’s and text messages about how impactful class was or someone stopping me at the grocery store to tell me how Full Ride has changed their life. The conversations with people whose lives are better because of Full Ride, that is, and will always be my biggest achievement.

  • Teaching is my most favorite thing. Second to teaching is leading a team I genuinely care about. The talent on the FRC team is truly unique. One of my biggest drivers as a leader is investing into my instructors to continue to develop the best instructor team in the country. I am most motivated by pushing my instructors to become the best versions of themselves, it's what I love most about what I do.

  • Inclusivity, integrity, kindness, grit, tenacity.

  • 1. Your 20’s are rough, hang on, it gets better.

    2. If you won’t remember it in five years, don’t spend more than five minutes worrying about it. Trust me on this one.

    3. Do it scared. You won’t ever be fully ready.

    4. Live below your means and save + invest your money. Stealth wealth is sexy.

    5. Learn to be okay with people not being okay with you. It will give you more peace than you’ll ever know.

    6. Grow thick skin to the things that don’t matter but don’t lose your sensitivity to the world, it's what makes you shine.

    7. What is possible for you is dictated not by your history but by your hunger. Work for it.

    8. You’ll always encounter resistance when you set out to accomplish something meaningful. Keep pushing.

    9. Love with your whole heart: what you do for a living, who you do life with, your people, the reward far outweighs the risk.

    10. Everything will all make sense one day, I promise.

  • Expect some very cool merchandise options very soon… wink wink. I’m working on something I’ve been dreaming about for years so stay tuned. Also, hearing that y’all loved the Skyline Ride, expect to see more event rides coming soon!

  • Touching lives across the country, perhaps? ;)

  • Hmmmmm I think most would be surprised to know I grew up downhill ski racing and traveled the world racing. I could ski before I could walk and I truly believe having dedicated so much of my younger years to a sport is the reason I am where I am today. So I’m an ex-international ski racer from Canada living in Nashville running a spin studio :) life is so wild and amazing and you just never know where you’ll end up!
