48 Hours in Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee. A city of storytellers, visionaries, pioneers, dreamers – and, shockingly, ordinary people. In a word, Nashville is dynamic. It boasts of music venues, art museums, sports arenas, shopping promenades, outdoor attractions, boutique gyms, coffee culture, and plethora of restaurants and bars. In this town, 48 hours doesn’t feel like much, so let’s get started!

Day 1

MORNING

Crema Coffee - Nashville, TN

Start Your Day with Crema Coffee Roasters

Remarkable coffee, tea, and food with a remarkable story behind it. When you visit Crema, expect to meet kind staff in a sleek, yet totally sustainable environment and leave wanting a refill.  What’s more, they provide free parking for an hour and a half – in the heart of downtown Nashville. If that doesn’t convince you to stop by, we don’t know what will.

Barrys - Nashville, TN

Move at Barry’s Nashville

Barry's Nash has become FRC’s extended family, but that isn’t the reason we think you should go. Their top-notch instructors will lead you through weight and treadmill intervals, providing recommendations and modifications for beginner, intermediate, and advanced movers. With awesome lights, music, amenities, and people, 50 minutes in The Red Room will get your body, mind, and soul right for the day.

E+Rose - Nashville, TN

Post-Workout Fuel Courtesy of E+ROSE

This Nashville-born heath food cafe and juice bar works to inspire wellness from within, which makes it the ideal post-workout fuel. With six storefronts scattered across our city, there’s sure to be an E+ROSE conveniently located wherever you’re kicking up dust. There is even a location right around the corner from Barry’s. We know, we’re making it too easy for you.

AFTERNOON

Shop Around 12S

Visitors and locals alike can’t seem to stay away from this promenade of retail stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and dessert parlors. At this point, you’ll have had some amazing coffee and food, so it’s time to introduce you to another one of Nashville’s talents: retail. Whether you’re in the market for athleisure or treasures you didn’t know you needed, you won’t leave 12S empty handed. Come taste, shop, and see all this corner of town has to offer.

Bartaco - Nashville, TN

Fill Up at Bartaco

You’ll work up an appetite carrying all of those bags. Cue one of Nashville’s most sought after dining experiences: Bartaco. The casual beach decor and catchy playlist invite you in, but the delicious beverages and food ask you to stay. Good news? When ordering, you can’t go wrong. Bad news? It’s gonna be tough deciding what to actually get.

Sevier Park - Nashville, TN

Relax in Sevier Park

With a playground, picnic tables, and a paved loop, Sevier Park is a hit for all ages. There’s no shortage of trees to find some shade under or dogs to pet, making it the perfect place for a late afternoon reset — or a pickup basketball game for our friends who’d rather keep moving.

EVENING

LA Jackson - Nashville, TN

Have a Drink at L.A. Jackson

Located atop the Thompson, L.A. Jackson's craft cocktails, small bites, sweeping view of the cityscape, and lively crowd doesn’t know how to disappoint. Nashville is notorious for weather that changes on a dime, but, rain or shine, LA Jackson’s indoor/outdoor rooftop is open and ready to wow you.

Dinner at…Well We Have Options.

In case you haven’t picked up on it by now, there’s no shortage of great food in this town, which can admittedly be overwhelming – without our help anyway. The Gulch  has an option on every corner and plenty in between. We know you had tacos for lunch, but does anyone ever really get tired of chips and guac? If your answer is no, stop by Superica, one of our favorite Mexican joints. Our Nashville guide wouldn’t be complete without some BBQ and Peg Leg Porker is sure to fulfill that right of passage, satisfying your taste buds in the process. Neither of those options quite what you’re craving? Well, we have pizza, burgers, and what they classify as “American,” aka a little bit of everything.

Listen to Live Music at Rudy’s Jazz Room

Maybe even more readily available than food is music, but Music City doesn’t just produce the top country stars. This authentic jazz experience features a moody lounge, live music, classic cocktails, and traditional Cajun/Creole dishes. Upon walking through their doors, the clubs of New York City collide with the rich history of New Orleans before you. It’s a swingin’ atmosphere to say the least.

Day 2

MORNING

Ride a Bike that Doesn't Go Anywhere.

Hey, even if we weren’t writing to you from this exact studio, Full Ride Cycling would still be on our must-do list. It’s a full body workout amidst one of the best communities you can find in Nashville (and beyond). Whether you’re an avid cyclist or have never clipped into a bike before, if you have a willingness to move and to feel empowered, look no further.

Breakfast by Ladybird Taco

Pop next door after your workout for some coffee and breakfast tacos. Need we say more? Fine, we will: queso. At any time of day. Without judgment. House-made is the name of the game from breakfast through lunch at this neighborhood favorite.

AFTERNOON

Stroll and Snack Amidst the Nashville Farmers’ Market

The best part of the farmer's market is knowing you’re supporting locally grown businesses — although the amazing food and craftsmanship you experience in the process is an additional perk. With vegan options, definitely not vegan options, coffee, sweets, and more, there is something for everybody in your crew. One of our favorite storefronts at the market is “Candle with a Handle,” a small business that transforms eclectic, second hand tea cups and mugs into scented candles. They will even refill candles once you’ve burned through them. Make sure you go check them out in person and on Instagram. (@candlewithahandleshop)

EVENING

Dinner at Geist Bar + Restaurant

Two words for this spot in Germantown: classy & cool. Everytime we visit Geist, it feels like a fresh experience. Their menu rotates often because they prioritize sourcing the best ingredients found regionally, but here’s an idea of what you can expect: espresso martinis, whipped feta, crispy potatoes, beet salad, lamb ragu atop ricotta gnocchi, chocolate tahini cake. From the timeless ambiance, through the innovative food, to the unwavering service, this place is a must-go.

Nashville Palace - Nashville, TN

Go Line Dancing at Nashville Palace

You didn’t think we were going to let you leave without a dance, did you? Nashville Palace is the place to go for live music, a casual drink, making new friends, and, of course, some country dancing. If you’ve never tried line dancing, the palace offers a $7 intro class with a team of their practiced professionals. Though you’ll find a wide range of experience levels on the dance floor, the regular attendees always put on a show that gives even those watching from the sideline a good ole time.

There’s a lot to do in Nashville, TN, but it’s the people that make this city so unique. They arrive in different chapters of life and Nashville’s pen doesn’t fill blank pages with the same words twice. The FRC Fam welcomes you into our home, though we’re sad it’s only for 48 hours.

We’re so glad you’re here,

The FRC Fam
